Ducati unveiled the much-hyper Scrambler last week and the fashionista / hipster set seem to be in love with it already. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Indeed, the Ducati Scrambler seems to be a nicely-executed modern interpretation of the traditional 1960s scrambler-style motorcycle. Powered by an 803cc oil-and-air cooled L-twin that produces 75bhp, and with its slim fuel tank and round LED headlamp, the Scrambler is totally non-intimidating and invitingly good looking. You don’t have to be a Panigale-snob to like this Ducati – if you like bikes, you’d probably want to take the Scrambler out for a quick spin the minute you see it for the first time.

We have reinterpreted an iconic motorcycle, part of our history for more than 50 years, in a fully modern way, designing and building the Ducati Scrambler as if we’d never stopped making it,” says Cristiano Silei, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Ducati Motor Holding. Indeed, with its wide handlebars, long and well-padded seat, 170-kilo dry weight, and slightly knobby tyres, the Scrambler should be good fun to ride. Probably.
Ducati are actually offering four versions of the Scrambler – the Icon, Urban Enduro, Full Throttle and Classic. Same mechanicals, minor cosmetic differences, all to be available in Ducati dealerships from February 2015, with prices ranging from £6895 to £7995.
