Van Harten BMW S1000RR Carbon Edition: More power, less weight

The 193bhp BMW S1000RR is, right now, pretty much at the top of most sportsbike riders’ wish list. With about 183 horsepower at the rear wheel and a host of sophisticated electronics, the German bike recently trounced all comers to win the 2010 Masterbike (ahead of the Aprilia RSV4, which finished second, and the 2010 MV Agusta F4, which took third…).

Now, The Netherlands-based BMW dealers, Van Harten, are kicking the madness up a few notches further by offering a lighter, more powerful version – the S1000RR Carbon Edition. The bike gets a custom paintjob, an Akrapovic Titanium exhaust system and a very long list of carbonfibre bodyparts. This lighter, slightly more powerful (because of the aftermarket exhaust) S1000RR is priced at 25,000 euros.
