2010 Ducati Hypermotard 1100 Evo, 1100 Evo SP announced

The Ducati Hypermotard 1100 Evo (red and black) and 1100 Evo SP (silver and red), for those who want a bigger adrenaline rush...

For 2010, Ducati have announced two new versions of the Hypermotard – the Hypermotard 1100 Evo and 1100 Evo SP. The Hypermotard 1100 Evo weighs 172kg dry and packs 95 horsepower and 102Nm of torque from its air-cooled 1,100cc Desmodue Evoluzione L-twin engine.

In order to reduce weight, Ducati have eliminated forged elements on the older Hypermotard’s trellis frame and made it lighter and stiffer. Suspension components now include adjustable 50mm Marzocchi fork at the front and ZF Sachs monoshock mounted to a robust single-sided swingarm at the back.

Lightweight 17-inch wheels mounted on large diameter axles are fitted with Pirelli Diablo Rosso tyres, while stopping power is provided by radial-mount Brembo four-piston callipers gripping twin 305mm discs up front and a single 245mm disc at the rear.

For those who want an even more extreme riding experience, Ducati also have the Hypermotard 1100 Evo SP, which gets more ground clearance, better suspension, higher bars and a further reduction in weight. The 1100 Evo SP gets fully adjustable 50mm Marzocchi forks, higher-spec shock with Öhlins remote reservoir, Brembo brakes with Monobloc callipers, lightweight wheels from Marchesini (shod with Z-rated Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tyres), serrated footpegs for increased boot grip, and various carbonfibre bits sprinkled across the bike.

The Hypermotard 1100 Evo SP also gets the Ducati Data Analyser (DDA) system, which includes PC software and a USB-ready data retrieval card, which enables owners to review and analyse the performance of the bike and its rider, and make comparisons between various channels of information.

The 2010 Ducati Hypermotard 1100 Evo is priced at 11,700 euros while the Evo 1100 SP costs 14,000 euros.

Ducati listed my 2008 Hypermotard 1100S at 90Hp. It dyno'ed at 78Hp at the wheel. Only 2Hp more then my 1996 Ducati 900 supersport.

I wonder what the new 95Hp translate to...
