Yamaha may launch T-Max 750 in 2010

Yamaha T-Max 750? Yes, bring in on!

According to a report on Motociclismo, Yamaha are working on brand-new three-cylinder, 750cc engine and the first recipient of this new engine may be a 750cc version of the T-Max 500 scooter. A mad, pumped-up super-scooter sounds good to us. While they’re at it, we hope Yamaha equip the new 750cc inline-triple with some R1-style electro-trickery. Sticky rubber, fully adjustable Ohlins fork and shock and ABS should then complete the package… :-)

A hotter T-Max? Yes, please!

J***s H. Ch***t, put the frackin' ABS on it this time! I'd buy a T-Max in a heartbeat if it had ABS brakes. Sure, it is already an expensive machine, but anyone who can afford it can also afford the extra dough for ABS.

Why is there the same incessant , intrinsic, naive, irrelevant belief that `bigger is better` for scooters, like motorcycles? It is simply not true. Instead of a bigger engine - which inevitably requires a bigger, beefier chassis and componentry to handle it all, why the heck can't Yamaha make a Tmax 500 that make another ten horses and weighs thirty kilos less and does 20 mph more for 20mpg less..? I'd rather have 250 miles per gallon than 250 extra cc's, and performance is NOT a function of extra cubic capacity. Surely this is a lesson that the post-800cc era Moto GP Yamaha should understand better than any other manufacturer?

It's frankly pathetic that the same mistakes are being repeated in the scooter market as the neanderthal thinking that dominates the motorcycle marketplace.

Holy Boss Hoss....where is the nitros bottle? the Mc-scooter war has begun. When a single cylinder vespa just won`t break the thousand dollar speeding fine barrior, then bring out the big guns. Just clone a VMAX with a TMAX and bring in the 2011 BEESWAX, don`t forget the big bore five valve kits too!

The Scooter was designed to be a light weight,cheap city commuter...unfortunately frowned upon by racehead motorcyclists. A biker myself (former max Scooter owner), I'd love to own this...if just to burn off some of the mad bikers at the lights. Personally I'm going back to a Maxi Scooter for convenience, so this could be a good choice!

I have a T-Max and wundered when Yamaha was going to use that extra cylinder for something more than a counter weight! Goin' to the bank now! If I could afford it I would buy a new Norton also. (It is the sadistic part of me coming out)But serioiusly I welcome it. I am 65 now and I want some scooter fun.I pass the Harley's now.... One can only imagine my 750 T-Max unloading on the unsuspecting. First thing? Take that 750 designation off!!

I'm 66 and my Wife is 63 and we both ride Tmax's. She is always out running Harley's all the time. When we stop and they ask her what the Hell is that, she is more than glad to tell them its a motor scooter and not only did they get their ass beat on a scooter, they got their ass's beat with an Old Woman on a Scooter!!!!
